a hotel must comply with numerous limit values
and other require­ments.
Energy consumption, which is one of the limit values,
is one of the most significant areas
of environmental impact.
Besides reducing the hotel's energy consumption,
the Nordic Ecolabel also has requirements
for the use of renewable energy sources.

A Nordic Ecolabelled hotel also takes steps to reduce
the use of chemical products.
The products that are nevertheless used
are mostly ecolabelled.
The hotel also works to reduce water consumption
and quantities of waste.

A hotel's restaurant
has a considerable impact on the environment.
That is why strict demands are made
on the managing of the restaurant.

The Nordic Ecolabel also sets environmental
requirements that apply to the renovation
or rebuilding of the hotel.
