Description
Sæby means the town by the sea. The town itself, its surrounding woods and beaches have attracted artists and tourists since the 18th century. The Vikings made its docks and since the Middle ages the town has been known for its convents. The harbour is alive with busy fishing vessels, yachts, smokehouses, fish shops and restaurants. It is a must for any tourist to taste the smoked herring along with a cold beer while listening to the brass music at the pier. Danhostel Sæby was established in 1983 and extended in 1992 and is linked to the town's sports centre. The hostel is built on two levels and is equipped with a disabled lift. The hostel is located near woodlands in green surroundings west of the town centre.

Bikes can be parked in a covered bike shed. There are clothes drying facilities. In addition to breakfast, it is possible to order packed lunches and/or dinner. Naturally, 3 star hostels also meet the requirements of 1 and 2 star hostels.
