Description
Randers is the sixth biggest town in Denmark, and was originally known as ¿the city where the 13 high roads meet the water way'. The charming pedestrian streets in the town centre offer excellent shopping, a rich supply of cultural events and lots of entertainment. Furthermore, a large concentration of supermarkets, etc., means that the city lives up to the reputation of being a commercial city more than ever. The primary tourist attraction in the area is the Randers Rain Forest, centrally located in Randers by the Gudenå river. The town's location makes Randers very suitable as a base for touring many sights: the Djurs Sommerland amusement park, Clausholm and Rosenholm castles, the Danish Agricultural Museum, the Kattegat Center, the Frigate Jylland, Tivoli Friheden and the model railway Europa. Randers hostel is located 3.8 km from the motorway in peaceful park surroundings, a 10-minute walk from the town centre. The hostel opened in 1988.
